There have been some spectacular goals and individual performances which have helped produce some eyecatching results. The players below have all turned on the style and had fans jumping out of their seats.

Jermaine Jenas (Tottenham)
Has been a vital member of the Spurs squad all season, even more so under Juande Ramos and really came into his own in the Carling Cup, playing 339 minutes, and scoring twice. Both his goals came in the semi-final against Arsenal, and in the 5-1 victory in the second leg, he also set two goals up.

Shaun Wright-Phillips (Chelsea)
One of the stand-outs of this season, Shaun Wright-Phillips has come of age under the management of Avram Grant. Scored once in 319 minutes of football (in the first leg of the semi-final against Everton), and he has proven a constant threat to defences throughout the tournament.

Carlton Cole (West Ham)
Scoring twice in 243 minutes of football, Carlton Cole was always reliable during the tournament, despite being rotated along with Dean Ashton and Craig Bellamy in the West Ham strikeforce.

Joleon Lescott (Everton)
Played every single minute of the tournament (540 mins altogether) and was unlucky to score an own goal at the end of the semi-final first leg at Stamford Bridge. He is Everton's third highest scorer this season in all competitions and his dedication and reliability helped his side to a successful run.

Drew Talbot (Luton Town)
Played 198 minutes and scored against Dagenham and Redbridge in the first round and Charlton in the third round as well as playing an important role in the defeat of Sunderland in between. Missed out on the defeat to Everton in round four through injury and has made a name for himself as 'Ginger Maradona' after his performance against Liverpool in the FA Cup.

Michael Mifsud (Coventry)
The joint top scorer in this season's Carling Cup so far, along with Frank Lampard. Mifsud's four goals came against Manchester United (two) and Carlisle (two again) and those efforts at Old Trafford have established him as one of the tournament's real heroes.

Eduardo (Arsenal)
The Croatian-Brazilian striker has played 360 minutes and scored four times, with the League Cup proving to be a big part of his first season in England and helping him establish himself at Arsenal.
